Qwaider: What you've said is true, but there's another arguments, and other disadvantages that can be abused, I've heared this argument before, and some people are fighting against the new services.

who knows! :)

QoS is not a bad thing either Abboud .. I wish we had QoS support (requires the whole system to be QoS aware, routers, switches, server and client)
QoS brings you amazing thins like prioritizing audio packets so that you will get the audio/video stream that you dreamt of having. Better quality for VoIP calls, with less bandwidth. And support for many other really cool things, like realtime multicasts to many places and all synchronized and in real-time (A must if you're going to be doing live TV) and Imagine, getting ALL your favorite channels from ANYWHERE in the world! Jordan IP TV would be playing on a TV set near you! Where ever you are.

QoS can be implemented on either IPv4 or IPv6 and works at a higher layer than the IP, therefore it should be agnostic to IP.
I don't think anyone is going to challenge the free services that everyone has. I think we'll see more of them with that, comes the industry that tries to make money, and it doesn't matter how big they are, they wanna make money!
Now the beauty of IPv6 is not only that you can give addresses to virtually anything and everyone even the appliances in your home. But because it makes it easier to collaborate, establish P2P (peer to peer) networks and much much more. The concept of subnets is meaningless .. the DHCP .. almost obsolete ... and even DNS would need a facelift!
I'm so excited about the future .. It's going to be So much fun! I call it.... "Internet at the speed of thought"

(by the way, QoS is already implemented in some GPRS and higher networks)

Qwaider: Let me tell you what I think.
The Internet was meant to be uncontrolled, that is how it was desinged. What some Arab countries do by preventing some websites or services is rediculous and funny, cuz it's easy to break by some proxy or other more stupid tricks. so It's basically nothing. But when It comes to Giants like Google, Microsoft, verson4, but if they apply IP version6, then we will have something called (QoS)Quality of Service ( imposing prioriy) this have some advantage, but however, It will reuin all the "Free" services we used to have.

Anyway, all these are expectations, nobody knows what is going to happen. but in my opinion, this Internet we're using now will be the same we'll be using in the next 10 (maybe 5) yrs. Internet will not be the same beautiful place.

Neverland: Thank you my friend :)

Nice little movie. But it's not as bad as it sounds
In countries in the middle east this is ALREADY being done and for years. Governments control access, and prices. So why should anyone care? Simple; Freedom, Anonymity, privacy .. the list goes on
The prices are going to continue to fall down. I remember the very first days of the internet in Jordan when we used to pay something like 8JD per hour of internet to GlobalOne. Those days are long gone now. But the business model remains the same. Build new and competing technologies, people buy them, supply, demand and competition control the prices
Some sort of governmental regulation is needed, specifically for Spam, Parental control and digital rights media. At present, this is driven by the Media giants like Sony, Disney and others. Not only that, but they also control so many aspects to the point it's killing service and content providers (and even OS manufacturers)
I say, there should be some sort of regulation, the alternative is chaos driven by Media companies. And THOSE are only out to make a buck!
