It’s summer time! I mean semester! The summer semester had begun last Sunday, and Im not very excited though. Anyway, I had like millions of things to do in the last couple of days. First, my family came from Kuwait, my maternal uncle and I went to the airport to take them home. My uncle was in the united states for about 20 years, he used to come to Jordan for vacations, but his vacations were at winter, so my family didn’t get the chance to see him, can you believe that my mother haven’t seen her brother since 1987 ?? and she just saw him two days ago !

Anyway, aside from the family stuff, I would like to talk a little bit about the summer semester, and the last semester.

The Second Semester:
Last semester (the 2nd semester), I took the following courses: Operating Systems, Simulation and Modeling, VLSI( Very Large Scale Integrated Circuits), Numerical Computations, and Graduation Project Phase I (Survey).
My favorite course was the “Operating Systems”. A very interesting course, yet EXTREMELY important. The most interesting part was the Linux lab. It was very useful to apply everything you took on the Linux kernel. The Simulation course was also interesting but the instructor didn’t like us!. VLSI is a great course, advanced one, and not easy though, but the instructor was so cooperative, he made it as easy as possible, and he helped us. The Numerical Computation, Im in love with math, and the course was not bad at all, I should’ve taken this one a year ago, but I postponed it, and I still don’t know why. Finally, “phase I” of my graduation project, I will write about it soon ;)

The Summer Course:
After struggling with the department, we convinced them to provide us with enough courses for the summer semester. I took the following courses: Networks Security, Wireless Networks, and Auto Cad Lab. Networks Security: This should be a good course, focusing Cryptography, SSL, hack attacks, penetration testing, and vulnerability research. Our university is the only university that teach this course in Jordan for undergraduates, I hope they teach in the right way. Wireless Networks: This is an elective course, and will be taught by instructor from the Hashemite University, I don’t know much about it, but I’ve been told that it’s an important course. AutoCad Lab: I should’ve taken this course two years ago, but its timing was(and still) bad, it should be an easy course, and the funniest part is that im the older student in the class, all the students are like two years younger.

Q: What does the testimony “There’s no god but Allah” mean?
A: It means that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah who Has no partners or rivals with Him in Worship or Dominion. Allah the most High says :{ That is becasue Allah - He is the Truth (the only True God og all that exists, Who has no partners or rivals with Him), and what they (the polytheists) invoke besides Him, it is Batil (falsehood). And verily, Allah - He is the Most High, the Most Great}. (Al-Hajj, 62).

Q: What are the conditions of Shahadah (Bearing witness that there is no god but Allah) that must be fullfilled by the one who pronous it?

A: They are seven

First: to know its meaning (what it affirms and negates).

Second: to have absolute Faith in it at heart.

Third: to believe in it publicly and secretly.

Fourth: To accept it and not to reject any of its necessities or requirements.

Fifth: To purify one’s intention in its regard.

Sixth: To believe in it from one’s deepest heart and not only by tounge.

Seventh: To have passion for it and for its adherents and to take friends and enemies only according to its very criteria.

I still don’t get, why are we so angry ?? Can’t we be more civilized ??? Olmert is really sorry for the death of 90 Palestinians in seven weeks. I mean the guy is really sorry!

Quoted from the Guardian

Ehud Olmert, the Israeli prime minister, said yesterday that he was “very, very sorry” about the death of 14 Palestinian civilians killed in air strikes in Gaza.

It’s ok Olmert, you don’t have to be sorry, I know It was all by mistake or just an unfortunate coincidence, and I think you’re really sad or you might be emotionally disturbed for seeing this amount of blood, so I urge the world to send roses to Olmert, guys he really need it.

we all stand with you Olmert, we love you.

This is one of the funniest movies of the year!! It’s not as I expected !! It’s extremely funny!! I watch it with my cousin a couple of days ago, we laughed out like hell !!

Steve Martin plays the stupid French detective, who was chosen by a politician to investigate in one national crime in France. He was chosen because that politician knew that he’s the most stupid detective in France and wanted him to fail sothat the politician might get some reward. Anyway, the stupid character is professionally played by Steve Martin !! and he had spoken English in a great French accent !!

A point worth to mention is, this movie has nothing to do with Pink Panther the cartoon! I really still don’t know why did they call Pink Panther !!

If you like comedy movies with stupid characters like Dumb and Dumber, for example, then you will just love this movie !!

ThoughtsAbed Hamdan on 19 Jun 2006 05:01 pm

I think that all Arab teams should be excluded from the World Cup. It will not be considered racism, It should be considered a favor. Im not that kinda soccer expert, but I think that there is a minimum level of acceptable decency in the game. I thought that Saudi Arabia could learn from the mistakes of the previous World Cup, and will be better trained and prepared, but I think they never learn.

It’s not lack of money or resources, Saudi Arabia is a rich petroleum country. The main problem is the lack of management and good leaders for Arab teams. The Saudi team have old players, they’re really getting old! When I read the names of the Saudi players, I was like what the heck! I remember in World Cup 1994 (the last World cup I watched), Klinsmann was the captain of the German team, and ٍٍSami Al-jaber was also the captain of the Saudi Arabian team. Now, Klinsmann is the coach of the German team, so Germany has new good players! But Sami Al-jaber still the coach of the Saudi team! What the ..?!

Ain’t they getting old ??? Ain’t there any new better players ?? Or there are no good managers and leaders to create new players! Didn’t they learn anything from their disgrace game with Germany in the last world cup ?? 8-0 is not enough ??

I think that Arab teams should take the Egyptian football team as an example, many of the Egyptian team players are married to belly dancers, and they don’t make it to the world cup anymore.

Imagine that one day you read your deepest secret written on a Postcard, even worse, it’s published online where MILLIONS have already read it.

Well, It’s not as bad as it seems! among one of the weirdest and best websites I found is Postsecret.

This website is about people sending their deepest secrets on postcards and mail them to a guy called Frank who publish them every Sunday, so every Sunday you will find new weird secrets published on Postcards. You will find secrets without names. The name of the writer of the secret is excluded.

Honestly speaking, I found out that many people are hiding the same secrets I hide! It’s been six months since my first visit to this website, but ever since, I kept on reading it every Sunday, and I found some unbelievable secrets. Now they published a book about the secrets. It’s availabe on amazon. Click Here to purchase.

People usually don’t tell me their secrets because I can’t keep my mouth shut! That’s one reason why I adore this site!

The bad thing is, you will not find any of the old secrets published, this website is updated weekly, and you can only read secrets of the week. If you want to read the previous secrets, you should purchase the book.

Q: What is the proof that Islam is defined as being the five pillars of this religion when considered in detail?
A: The Prophet’s saying (Peace be upon him) upon answering Gabriel when he asked about religion Islam: “Al-Islam implies that you testify that there’s no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and you establish prayer, pay Zakah, observe the fast of Ramadan, and perform pilgrimage to the House (the Ka’abah in Mecca), if one has means to do so”. ( Reference of Saying:Bukhari and Muslim).

His saying (Peace be upon hi) that reads:”(The superstructure of) Islam is raised on five (pillars): The Oneness of Allah, performance of Prayer, payment of Zakah, fast of Ramadan, and Pilgrimage (to Mecca)”. (Referecne of Saying: Bukhari and Muslim).

Q: When can a deed be an act of worship?
A: If there are two things: perfect love (for Allah) along with perfect subjection (to Him). Allah the Almighty says: {But those who beleive, love Allah more (than anything else)}. (Al-Baqarah, 165).
Allah the Almighty says: {Verily those who live in awe for fear of their lord}. (Al-Mu’minun, 75).
Allah the Almighty gathered the two things in the following verse that reads, {Verily, they used to hasten on to do good deeds, and they used to call on Us with hope and fear, and used to humble themselves for Us}. (Al-Anbiya’, 90).

I think this is an exaggeration!

By using this icon on my website I am stating…

1. That I am opposed to the use of corporate advertising on blogs.

2. That I feel the use of corporate advertising on blogs devalues the medium.

3. That I do not accept money in return for advertising space on my blog.

I would like just to point out something about being a Palestinian. I will not talk about the occupation and massacres and bla bla, I will talk from another perspective.

Haven’t you noticed something in common between all Palestinian Bloggers ?? Ok, this seems to be misleading. Put another way, Have you noticed something not in common between Palestinian Bloggers ??

I think you should!

The answer is: Haven’t you noticed that Palestinian bloggers are scattered all over the world! go to http://palestineBlogs.org , and see from where do Palestinians blog! you will find bloggers from Jordan, USA, Canada, Germany, Kuwait, KSA, and more countries.!

Wherever you wander, you will find Palestinians! I heared that there are Palestinians even in Fuji!

and this is the worst thing that could ever happen to anyone. Take my family as an example, I have cousins in the following countries: USA/Miami, USA/California/Sacramento, Canada, Germany, France, Serbia/Yugoslavia, Palestine, Jordan, Kuwait, SaudiArabia, Bahrain, Lebanon, Egypt, and Syria. Do you think that we could ever unite together ??

I lived between Kuwait, Jordan, and Palestine. and I met many people, but frankly speaking, I have no place that I call home.

Vagabonds, that’s what we are.

IslamAbed Hamdan on 16 Jun 2006 04:49 pm

I decided to start writing about Islam. This is not the first time, I wrote alot about Islam on another blog ( Peace Root ), but this is the first time I write about it here. I will take the Q & A approach. My reference is a book by “Sheikh Hafiz Ibn Al Hakami”, translated by “Ali As-Sayed Al-Halawani”. The book’s name is “Muslim Beleif”.

Questions are about what should the Muslim beleive in to be a Muslim. It’s about the basic things to beleive in to be a real Muslim.

Please if anyone have any question about Islam, just send me an email (click on “contact” on the side bar) or leave a comment.

Anyway here we go…

Q: What is Islam?
A: Islam means perfect submission and subjection to Allah; and testifying complete Monotheism and freedom from polytheism and disobedience to Him. Allah, Most High says: {And who can be better in religion than one who submits his fate(himself) to Allah}. (An-Nisa’,125).

Q: What is the first religious obligation on worshippers?
A:To realize the purpose for which Allah the Almighty created them; and for which He took their covenant and sent them His Messengers and Books; and for which He created this present life, the Hereafter, Paradise, and Hell-fire; and for which the Inevitable would come true; and the Event would befall; and for which the Balance is set and the Records fly; and for which there would be either happiness or misery; and according to which the lights would be divided, for any to whom Allah gives not light, there will be no light for him!

Q: What is the word “abed” or “abd” (worshipper) mean?
A: It means the subdued or subjugated. This meaning encompasses all sorts of creation: higher and lower, rational and reasonless, animate and inanimate, dynamic and static, apparent and hidden, believing and disbelieving, and pious and dissoulute, etc.;all of which are created to Him, and the Almighty. They are subjected to Him, and managed by Him Alone. Moreover, all of them have a limit and destination and each one runs (its course) for an appointed term. Such is the judgment and ordering of (Him), the Exalted in Power, the Omniscient. And if the intended sense is the modest God-loving worshiper, in this case it refers only to the believing men and women who are Allah’s honorable slaves and pious godly ones; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

Q: What is Worship?
A:: Worhips is a comprehensive word that refers to all that which pleases Allah, and that which He likes, viz., good words and deeds are made manifest or concealed; and freedom from all that which contradicts this.

more are coming soon…

It’s me on the left, and my best friend Amajd on the right, on his graduation day. We spent 4 yrs together! Actually I spent the best 4 yrs of my life with him. We lived together. We used to eat together, study together, have fun, spending the whole night walking in Irbid’s streets, …
We had a life time together! These days are gone, and won’t come back. As I write these line, tears are just flowing.

I still remember year 2002, when we first met. He told me later that he didn’t like me! This is not the first time! I have a bad habit of giving others a bad first impression, I can’t remember if anyone liked me from the first sight. They always think that im kind of arrogant or not friendly person.

Anyway, just weeks after we met, we became best friends. The summer semester of the first year was the summer where we had the same courses. These days are just wonderful.

Now Amjad has graduated, he carries a B.A of Biomedical Engineering. Yes, he just took his courses faster than I did, and finished in just 4 yrs. Great student, Indeed. Amjad is a great person, friend, brother, and he is the best person I’ve ever met. He is the one who takes the pictures you see from Palestine.

I will always miss you Amjad. We’ll keep in touch for sure! And We’ll meet from time to time…

This is life, people come, and people go!

The outstanding British astrophysicist Steven Hawking said that Humans must establish a base on the moon and colonize Mars within the next 40 years if we’re to avoid extinction from global warming or another catastrophe, astrophysicist Stephen Hawking said yesterday.

“It is important for the human race to spread out into space for the survival of the species,” Hawking said at a news conference in Hong Kong.

“Life on Earth is at the ever-increasing risk of being wiped out by a disaster, such as sudden global warming, nuclear war, a genetically engineered virus or other dangers we have not yet thought of.

“We won’t find anywhere as nice as Earth unless we go to another star system,” he added.

Space enthusiasts said Hawking’s vision is achievable.

“We’re pretty sure that everything we need to live is on Mars. There’s plenty of water and there’s a little bit of an atmosphere,” said Dr. David Robertson, director of the Center for Space Physiology and Medicine at Vanderbilt University.

Humans would likely live in a pressurized, temperature-controlled biosphere that could withstand the frigid nighttime temperatures and thin, dusty atmosphere.

“There’s no way you’d live without a space suit, even just to visit,” said Louis Friedman, executive director of the Planetary Society.

Science fiction author Kim Stanley Robinson said Hawking’s remarks were “a wasted opportunity.” “You want to treat this planet like the only one we have because Mars is poisonous,” he said.

I know you’ve noticed(Unless you’re blind) that I’m using Google Ads (Under Sponsored Links on the side bar)! If you still don’t know how these Ads work, then let me explain :)

These Ads are called context Ads. That is, Google places Ads that are relevant to the contents of your website. So how do these Ads work ??

Each time anyone clicks on these Ads, Google pays me money :D the amount of money per click depends on the link it selfs, I think It varies from $0.001 to $1 (this is the range I got). And each time anybody clicks on the Ads, the owner of the link should pay Google money. So Google wins! There are, of course, fraudal clicks made, and many complaints regarding these fraudal clicks.

According to the famous business rule “If you can’t beat ‘em, copy ‘em”, Yahoo has developed their own copy of these Ads (Yahoo Ads), also suffered from fraudal clicks! but, however, Google Ads still dominating the web, because they were the first who came up with the idea.

Today, e-Bay has a new idea. The same “Context Ads”, but this time, e-Bay will pay you money if and only if an action is taken (like purchasing), and this should be the solution to the fraudal clicks. Click Here or Click Here to read about e-Bay’s new Ads system.

Yes I made money out of Google Ads ;)

A virus that infects computers when users merely read an email - rather than open an attachment - has hit Yahoo! Mail accounts.

Yahoo! is the world’s largest email services provider and handles 200 million accounts, but it said on Monday that only “a very small fraction” had been infected.

The worm has been dubbed Yamanner and landed in Yahoo! mailboxes bearing the subject line “New Graphic Site”. Once opened, the message infects the computer and spreads to other users listed in Yahoo! users’ email address books, security companies said.

The email containing the virus need only be opened - in contrast to most worms that are hidden in attachments and require users to take an additional step - to release the virus, according to computer security company Symantec.

The company advised users to update virus and firewall software on their computers and to block any email sent from av3@yahoo.com.

Yahoo! said in a statement: “We have taken steps to resolve the issue and protect our users from further attacks of this worm.”

Yamanner, first detected by Yahoo! and computer anti-virus software makers earlier on Monday, was ranked as having a low threat level by Trend Micro and McAfee.

But Symantec considers the worm an “elevated threat”, one step up from the lowest ranking in terms of relative danger.

Symantec’s Security Response site suggested that Yahoo! account holders might protect themselves by upgrading to the latest test version of the recently upgraded Yahoo! Mail software.

“The worm cannot run on the newest version of Yahoo! Mail Beta,” Symantec’s site said.

This is one of best movies I’ve ever seen! The plot is just outstanding!! Chaos starring : Jason Statham, Ryan Phillippe, Wesley Snipes, and more. It’s about a bank robbery, but this time, It won’t be a regular one. Ryan Phillipe and Jason Statham teaming up to investigate a bank heist where Wesley Snipes is the bank robber in question. The movie has something to do with the Chaos theory, but the big question is how ?? you will find out at the end of the movie! I have not seen a good movie like this one for a long time.
