Translation:
Olmert(Israel’s Prime Minister, on the right): Have you found the kidnapped soldier in Gaza ?
Amir Peretz(Israel’s Defense Minister, on the left): No, they kidnapped another two.
Update:
This is Omayya’s New Cartoon, it’s funny !
Translation:
Olmert(Israel’s Prime Minister, on the right): What is this ?? The rain smells!
Amir Peretz(Israel’s Defense Minister, on the left): I think it’s the summer rain (name of Israeli operation in Gaza).
Written on the Car: The Palestinian and Lebanese resistants
My Humble Opinion:
There’s no solution, Israel should stop violence and start negotiations to exchange prisoners…more violence will generate more violence..and the circle will never end. Let’s pray to stop the blood.

Abed,
In the act of Amnesty Internacional participated two european diputates, and the president of Catalonia AI , and the journalist that denunciated the CIA for the ilegal flights.
The was very intertesting because we listen in firt person the open process against UE and the USA.
When we talk about Palestina, one of the eurodiputates explain us, that taht today the president of Spain will do a complaint against policy of Isarel, but it will not happens in the UE Counsil, because of pression of some countries that defens Isarel.
This man, write his opinion in his blog: http://blocs.mesvilaweb.cat/raulromeva
He writes in Catalan, if you want I can translate the opinion in my horrible english.
See you.

He is against the occupations of course. This man worked in UNESCO, and he representated a lot of investigators that worked in peace culture.
He is one of the few eurodiputates that do a pression to do an international compleint, of UE, agains de militar estrategy, and comercial policy, of Israel.
In his blog, he is critic with de passivity of the international comunity.

It’s odd how a cartoon of Mohammad can be considered an insult to a world religion but a cat pissing on two world leaders is considered funny.
The irony makes it funny.

anonymous: I have the same dream…but It won’t probably happen..not in the near future.
Jordi: Thanks my friend ! This is so nice of you
Tristan Vick: Well, Muhammad (peace being upong Him) is a religious symbol, and a prophet of Allah. It’s not acceptable for religious symbols to be accepted as a matter of mocking or fun, and this is so clear.
About the cartoon, you can see that this cartoon did humiliate the country itself…the flag of the country is not their…and all the cartoons are about mocking politicians.
I think that decent cartoons are about mocking politicians not the country or symbols of countries (like it’s flag, for example). One might argue that politicians are symbols of the country, but my answer is NO. Politicians are symbols of their governments and their foreign/internal policy. I think this is so clear my friend.
There are millions of cartoons mocking Arab politicians, and nobody moves, because it’s a freedom of speech.
I hope you got my point…if not, then I can explain further…
welcome my friend

I understand that the Hadiths prohibit the pictoral use of prophets and relgious figures…
there have been hundreds of articles talking about freedom of speech in regards to this matter.
The sad thing is there is no seperation between Mohammad and most men. Mohammad saw God. God spoke to him. God speaks to me too, so what? If a person makes a cartoon of me… fine.
Tollerance is the issue of debate, not whether or not it happened. Because when Islam deals with the rest of the world, it will find people who will not share the same world view as Muslims. This is alright. But if an offense does arrise, then what is it easier to say? I forgive you? Or stand and walk?
“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

Tristan Vick: Have you read what I wrote ???
It’s not about Islamic rules whatsoever. Im talking about Muhammad as a “religious symbol”. You don’t have to beleive in him, but he shouldn’t be a subject of fun. Just like Jesus, for example, he is a religuous symbel, and hence shouldn’t be subject of mocking or fun or cartoons…and also popes.
If offense does occur, then we should stop it , and sure we should forgive, we should also prevent it from happening again. We’re against burning embassies and killing of course, It’s part of out religion to be against violence whatsoever.
My point Is, what’s religious should be sacred and not a matter of fun or mocking.
However, politicians are representing their governments, not their countries. One might draw cartoon about Bush, but It’s not acceptable to mock the United States as a country or to humiliate the American pride…that’s what Im talking about. you mixed things up
on 17 Jul 2006 at 9:58 pm # Tristan Vick
I understand what you are saying.
What I am trying to get accross is that it’s not an issue about offending.
No matter how ’sacred’ something is, even God, there is someone cruel or evil enough to mock and ridicule it.
No matter what, there will be these kinds of people. We can’t change this, and we can’t prevent it from happening. As long as their is good and evil the evil people will say and do evil things.
They will make fun of Mohammad, they will curse Allah, they will call all Muslims Terrorists, and they won’t stop.
The matter then becomes, not an attempt for us to stop their irrational actions, but rather, how do we react and deal with these actions when they happen?
This is why I say this is an issue of “tollerance” first and foremost.
If we are intollerant, people will misinterpret our actions as oppressive. So rather, as the saying goes, we must learn to roll with the punches.
Then, if anyone does say defamatory things about us, our beliefs, or even our God’s and religions, then we can start to fix the problem by educating others, not by accusing them.
on 17 Jul 2006 at 10:44 pm # Abed. Hamdan
Tristan Vick:
I would agree that there’s nothing we can do to stop such cartoons. except by asking those who draw it ,to not to draw it.
People were intolerant upon the cartoons of Muhammad, but I understand well why they did that, eventhough I know It’s wrong.
We’re talking about the Arab street, which is mostly unemployed, watching the news with Anger, and struggling everyday to feed their children. so anything will turn them on.
Let’s wish that such action don’t happen again.
