Miss “Annousheh Ansari”, who was born in Iran but later became a US citizen, is the fourth ever space tourist and the first female space tourist has landed to Earth today.

The capsule carrying Anousheh Ansari as well as crew members from the US and Russia touched down in Kazakhstan early today.

In a statement from space tourism firm Space Adventures, Ms Ansrari was quoted as saying the $25 million trip had exceeded her expectations.

She said:

The experience was more than I had ever imagined. Seeing the Earth from space will be forever etched in my mind. (Hat tip: RTE News )

Space Blog inspires thousands:
The world’s first female space tourist says space smells like a “burned almond cookie”, praises the wonders of Velcro, and finds washing her hair in zero gravity hazardous. (Hat tip: SBS News )

Burned Almond Cookie ?? lol
Women!!!

I visited her blog, she wrote about her 10 days experience in space, and she was live blogging from the space! Click here to go to her blog.

So $25 million to visit the space ?? Hmm, I think I should start saving! *sigh*

I did some modifications to my blog lately, and I would like to tell you about them if you haven’t noticed yet.

1) I moved my Arabic blog from Jeeran to Blogger, because I wanted to use the same theme im using here and Im not familiar with Jeeran yet, so this is my arabic blog:

http://7afartal.blogspot.com

I put an image banner on the right-side bar so you can check it easily:

7afartal !

2) On the right-side bar also, I added new section called “Abed Picks“, without going into unnecessary details, these picks are links for articles in blogs or news or magazines that I found interesting, and they change dynamically, so you can check them from time to time, I always add new links I think they worth reading.

3) This is not a new change, but I want to tell you about the “Subscribe by e-mail”, It’s also on the right-side bar. So if you are too lazy to check my blog (and you like it), then you can receive what I write via email! Just subscribe, and my blogs will be delivered to your email.

So let’s be honest, how many hours do you spend browsing here and there through blogs?? looking for something interesting, commenting on one blog, or even fighting with stupid bloggers. I, of course, am enjoying blogging. But seriously, this consumes long time! I tried to manage it, but I couldn’t. I succeeded to reduce the number of published posts per month and that really helped, but I couldn’t handle the time spent reading other blogs, I really couldn’t resist the temptaion to do so!

So is it addiction ?? or It’s just a temporary passion ? I once tried to monitor the time I spent writing one post, and reading the blogs on my blogroll, and It took exactly 2 hrs ! and this is a considerable amout of time, at least for me!

Im an addict! not to blogging, but to anything! seriously I am! It’s so easy for me to addict to “anything” , that’s why I avoid trying anything that some peoeple might addict to, because I know myself lol!

This is an interesting/funny blog that discusses the “blogging addiction” ! I don’t think I’ve reached the addiction level, but take a look at it, it’s worth it.

hmm, so do you have any suggestions to manage this ?? I really need your help! tell me what you think :)

Politics and ThoughtsAbed Hamdan on 19 Sep 2006 03:26 am

The world is going crazy these days, angry protests here and there, and .. hmm, I don’t know what to say. This is not good for anybody, here I mean the conflict about Islam and pope speech.

Some might argue that this anger will take some time and then everybody will forget what happened and things will cool again. I beleive this is way too dangerous. We still remember when Bush declared a “crusader war” , and then he aplogized and said it was a “slip of the tongue”. Then, the Danish cartoons, the facism, and lately what pope said.

Do you know why do I think that this is a very dangerous ?? because, It’s not only provoke for counter-terror attacks, but also it justifies what terrorists do, and beleive me this is the most dangerous thing. There’s a non-questionable denial of all forms of terror attacks across the Arab/Muslim world, specially between the educated people but, however, after we hear such irresponsible statements like “crusader war” or “facism” or whatevever it becomes highly likely that some educated will at least sympathize with terrorists. For example, when we hear terms like “crusader war”, we immediately hear and see some Al-Qaeda people on TV justifying their attacks by “stopping the crusader war”, and this happened before, and still happening.

In response to Pope’s late speech, Al-Qaeda promised to continue its attacks against the west in response to the disrespect of Islam and Muslims, and this is sick. In the last two weeks, we witness the murder of some British tourists in Jordan, and we’re getting enough of this really.

Now the question is, what’s the end of this madness ?? where are we going ??

I was too busy in the last few days, but the most interesting thing I’ve been up to is the interview I had with Jeeran. Since I should take a period of 5 months training (from February to June), I started to send my CV to different companies, I visited some companies here in Irbid, and in Amman. Surprisingly, just one day after submitting my CV to jeeran, they called me, and they took an appoint the day after that for an interview.

The interview was just fine, and fun! The manager is a very nice, young, and decent guy called “Laith”, he started by asking how I did know about jeeran, which dragged us to a long conversation about blogging in general and jeeran services in specific. I was honest, and I told him that the services need some enhancements, and we discussed various technical challenges, and It was a good chance to test my knowledge, and I told him what I can do. I showed him some of my university projects. I actually liked the manager, It was a very comfortable interview, and he was very nice. My main job will be a web application developer, which is not really my major, but I think it’s a good chance to get more experience in web applications and its corresponding challenges.

“Call me on January, so we can discuss the details, and take a final decision” was the last thing the manager said, because my training should start at February/1st. January is good, I’ll have more time to make up my mind, and I’ll have more options, but I liked the idea of working with Jeeran, it’s a decent company, and one of few Jordanian companies that build its applications from scratch, which is something I prefere.

By the way, I’ve been tagged by Chet & MoeY , and I’ll answer the tags on my next post nshallah, thank you guys! :)

Death: Good morning

Abed: Good morning ?? What ?? Is it my time ??

Death: No, I don’t have much work to do today. So , you still remember me ?

Abed: Hell yes, I still remember you, we met four times before, and the last one was so close, remember ?

Death: HaHa, Yes I do! I was just saying hi!

Abed: Your “hi” was unpleasant, so is you, and you’re not funny whatsoever!

Death: Why ?? Am I scarying you ?

Abed: No, you don’t scare me. I know you’re always arround, and hell you move by orders, you don’t do things on your own, so take it easy dude.

Death: But you were scared last time.

Abed: It’s ok, you’re like a needle, you hurt, but you’re an inevitable, and you don’t take much longer than a needle. So why should I be scared ?

Abed: And you know what ?? you inspired me several times. Trust me you did!

Death: Im cold, and paralyzed, and painful. I don’t inspire, I scare people. I cause tears and pain.

Abed: You do ? *yellow smile*

Death: Yes I do! and Im an unexpected guest.

Abed: and who told you that tears and pain are something bad ?? Tears taught me how to laugh, and pain taught me how to love, and being unexpected makes you a surprise, and we like surprises!

Death: That makes me good ?

Abed: That makes you nothing, and the good news is, you’ll eventually vanish, when we’re back, and you’ll not be back again, trust me on this.

Death: At least you’ll die once, before that happen! And It will be painful! *winks*

Abed: Get lost, I’ll die, but I’ll be back, you won’t!

Death: Kiss my butt!

Abed: Loser, It’s 5:40 Am, and I have to get some sleep! now get out, you’ve got a busy day, don’t you ??

Death: We’ll meet soon!

Abed: bye!
