“Singer Macadi Nahhas -Jordan
A leading light among the young Jordanian artists, has a sparkling talent, distinguished pure voice, astonishing presence, carefully selects her repertoire to be performed by her golden voice.
Macadi did not realize that music is what she wanted till her first performance at Jerash Festival 1997 and after she was introduced to the influential musicians and radio personalities in Beirut. Most of them advised her to study music, which have leaded her to believe that music is a part of her life.
She participated in several important cultural festivals, and performed on many important stages during National and cultural occasions, in Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia… etc. With her own special style, she introduced the Arab oriental music to the public audience, and revived music and songs from our oriental traditional heritage and folklore that was long forgotten.
Macadi Nahhas, born in Amman 1977, obtains a Diploma in music from the Music Conservatory of Beirut, and is currently studying drama at the Lebanese University – Beirut. During her residency in Beirut since the late 90’s she has been very active in the music scene, participated in many student’s activities, fundraising events, cultural festivals, where she introduced her music in a very alternative and unique style.
She released her debut album “Kan Ya Ma Kan”, in the year 2004. In the same year, and under the patronage of H.E Minister of Culture, Asma Khader, she presented a joint work with the well-known Lebanese poet Zahi wahbeh; Poems & Acapella singing. Also in the year 2004, the Greater Amman Municipality produced a song titled “Amman” and by the end of the year she participated in the song “Inti El Shams”, dedicated to victims of the November terrorist acts in Amman, with Ruba Saqr & Sawsan Habib who composed the song.
Her latest Single is a song for Jordan titled “Sourouh Al Urdon”, composed by Sawsan Habib, lyrics by Poet Mohamad Damra, music arrangement by Abboud Al Saadi, and was presented to H. M. King Abdulla II, on the occasion of his birthday, at the opening ceremony of “Saraya Al Aqaba” Project. Macadi worked with several theatrical groups and brilliant directors such as; Karim Dakroub, Ghazi Bekdashi, Ahmad Al Zein.”
