HANDALA 2007

Handala means bitterness. It’s the name of a desert plant growing in Palestine. It was also the name of a cartoon figure � a boy who never shows his face - created by famous Palestinian cartoonist Naji al-Ali.

Naji al- Ali was assassinated in 1987 while living in London. This means 2007 will be the 20th anniversary of his death.

A cartoon exhibition featuring the works of world wide cartoonists will commemorate Naji al-Ali and 60 years of Israeli occupation.

This exhibition will be accompanied by painting action with international and Palestinian cartoonists on the Wall. Workshops in schools with schoolchildren and college students in Ramallah, Abu Dis, Jenin, Nablus, Al Khalil, Tulkarem, Bil’in etc.

My Humble Opinion:

There’s no solution, Israel should stop violence and start negotiations to exchange prisoners…more violence will generate more violence..and the circle will never end. Let’s pray to stop the blood.

I still don’t get, why are we so angry ?? Can’t we be more civilized ??? Olmert is really sorry for the death of 90 Palestinians in seven weeks. I mean the guy is really sorry!

I was surfing the web, and I found this arabic cartoon. It’s the map of Palestine, and shows the actual positions of the Israeli prisons that contains the Palestinian Prisoners, and I wondered, when will those prisoners set free ?!
