This discussion doesn’t seem to end. And it’s quoted here

Seriously, the more discussions I have about Islam, the more amazed I am by the worldwide lack of understanding of Islam.

By an exquisite effort of Summer, this video of Jerusalem came to existence:

This effort is not to be under estimated. This is a sheer evidence of the identity of the city.

A city that is claimed to be pure Israeli. Here you see Arab Muslims, living in ancient houses, in a city that does not look Israeli. It’s a city whose inhabitants rebel every two decades or so to preserve their identity. It’s a holy city where god is to be worshiped. It’s a city that’s supposed to be peaceful, but alas peace knows not of.

[ Update]

Aljazeera journalist asked Al-Tantawi what’s his opinion regarding the desturction of parts of Al-Aqsa. Al-Tantawi was not aware of what’s happening and was completely careless. He asked the journalist to tell him the details of the situation, and then he asked her if this is happening today…then he asked why Israel does such thing, then he said if Israel is destroying Al-Aqsa, then a strict measure should be taken to stop this attack. The Journalist asked him how could this attack be stopped ? specially that Israel prevented anybody from entering Al-Aqsa. Then he said that all Muslims in Jerusalem should stand in the face of the caterpillars, he responded ignorantly, that Palestinians should stand, and it’s their problem, men and women! (mass suicidal), then if they standed infront of the caterpillars, then all the world will support them (them as if it’s not his business), and then they should victimize themselves and shouldn’t ask anybody to stop it. The journalist told him that Israel forbid any Palestinian from entering Al-Aqsa, then he responded stupidly by answering there’s nothing called “forbid” and those caterpillars are driven by people.

Then he asked the journalist, “What do you want from me ???” . she said she wanted to hear the opinion of the AL-Azhar imam, he answered “Do you want anything else?” “Goodbye”.

[/update]

I’m irked, irritated, and sick of this!!!

but as I promised myself to respect my fellow bloggers and readers, I won’t speak dirty here.

This is what we get from Al-Azhar, and the “imam” Al-Tantawi, he speaks of Al-Aqsa as if it’s not his business!! of course!! I wonder what problems does he care about ?? and Im wondering how much does it take to bribe some people here.

blaming the Palestinians for the destruction of Al-Aqsa, as if the Palestinians didn’t suffer in the last 6 decades, and as if the whole world didn’t prevent every single penny from entering Palestine.

As if Al-Azhar did anything to Palestine.

you know what, I don’t wanna start flaming on Al-Azhar! this is not the time and place for this.

but sorry, this time, my mouth won’t shut. This is the most irresponsible, ignorant, stupid, lame, ugly, bribed, careless, and retard speech I’ve ever heard.

he speaks of actions and yet he does nothing but speaking and telling Palestinians what to do. He wants a mass suicidal sqauds of Palestinians in the face of the Israeli tanks to protect Al-Aqsa, and that’s how he will move his lazy butt and do something.

Why, of course! It’s not his screwed up responsibility. Actually, he has no responsibilities at all. Nobody does.!! just eat, sleep, and get paid for defending your Pharaoh. and That’s it!! you are Ameer el mo2mineen!

Islam and ThoughtsAbed Hamdan on 29 Aug 2006 07:29 am

Due to the sad war that took place in Lebanon, we had the chance to see lots of different point of views coming from different backgrounds. I became fimiliar with the racists, and I actually knew what’s the main cause of their racism.

I’m not going to talk about racism between Arab & West or about Propaganda, not at all. Rather, I’m going to talk about the racists Arabs. I’m going to talk about the mentality behind the racist, and what all racists share.

Racism in the Arab world has a very old root, and the Arab world witnessed many unfortunate events among history, and is prone to witness an even worse events. That’s why I think It’s so important to understand how these racists think and how they promote their poisonous ideas inorder to stop them whenever possible. And I beleive that most of the terror attacks are due to this racism.

Muslim, Christian, or Jew ?
In the holy land of messengers and prophets of God, It’s so easy to provoke for terror and racism. At high school in Kuwait, most of the students were Muslims. I’d give a percentage of 85% Muslims and 15% Christians. We never talked about our religions, I can’t remember asking any student what’s his religion, It never mean anything to me. But however, outside the high school community, there was always this thing, you can feel the difference in the eyes of some people.

There are some people in the Arab world who have no job but differentiating between people as infidel and beleiver. I think that a small answer like “Who set you God to decide who’s infidel?” will shut them up, because most of them are ignorants, and they lack the solid background to get into any decent discussion. Few of those are well read, and they might argue a little bit, so you must have a religous background and patience to stop these. Problem is, some people here are very aggressive when you contradict their opinions, and they might argue with loud voice to stop you. I always kill these people with my patience and short answers, and I beleive that this is the only to deal with them. Of course, you should have a good background inorder to speak their langauge.

Sunni or Shi’a ?
This is the new delimma were facing recently in the Arab world. It’s the new poison that has been spreaded widely, and I personally think It’s the most dangerous. There’s a difference between the Sunnah & Shi’a in Islam, but however, both are Muslims and beleives in Muhammad, peace and blessing being upon him. Going back to my high school memories, I’d give a percentage of 50% Sunnah 50% Shi’a of the Muslims at school, and the same percentage goes for the Kuwaiti community.

Actually, this problem is small right now, but It’s getting serious sometimes, specially in places like SaudiArabia, and I was shocked when I read reactions of some Saudi bloggers to the war against Lebanon. They were against Lebanon !! Just because Hezbollah is Shi’a, and this is absurd!

If somebody asks me “Are you Sunnah or Shi’a ?” , then my answer will be “None of your business”. Why in the world would somebody care ?? What difference should this make ?? Aren’t we supposed to focus on other more important issues rather than fighting each others like idiots ??

I developed a common pattern to deal with them, and to answer their claims gently, and shut their mouths if necessary. Everyday is a new experience, and everyday I have something new to learn.

Bloggers and IslamAbed Hamdan on 10 Jul 2006 01:49 pm

There’s a problem between two of my favorite bloggers: Neverland and Wedad.

The Problem is:

Wedad is a devoted Christian girl, she copy/pasted an article written at elaph newspaper, this is article is considered offending to Muslims.

Neverland is a loyal Muslim girl, and as a result of Wedad’s action, she responded to her post.

Later on, Wedad deleted her post, and politely apologized.

I would like to say something IMPORTANT:

Dear Friends,

I want to remind of you something important:

The first thing you do when beleiving in God (regardless of your religion) is to learn & understand the concept of forgiving.
I understand why Neverland is upset. Im upset too.
but Wedad apologized and removed the post.
What is right (in my opinion ) is that both Neverland and Wedad forgive each others, and get rid of any hard feeling.

Forgive each others girls, and show us how great are both of you. Fights and wars happen all the time, but we should be better, and we should learn to forgive, specially when the other is showing good intentions.
both of you showed good intentions, Neverland’s good intension was getting mad because of her religion, which is a duty, and Wedad showed good intentions because of the apology and the removal of article..

Shake Hands, forget what happened, and Show the world that we’re beyond any kind of racism.

A word to Wedad: I would like to give you an advice as a sister, be extra careful with what you read in the media, we’re dealing with an unfair CONTROLLED media. When you just copied and pasted the article, you didn’t realize that you were doing something wrong for your religion. Some people might hate Christian because of an article that you didn’t write. Be careful.

A word to Neverland: Standing for your religion is the most nobel duty, and you did it well. You’re point is 100% valid, and you’re speaking from a solid background. But , as our religion forces us, if the other want peace, we should give them peace. If they showed good intetion we should show back good intention. Islam is all about peace, If there’s a chance to peace, then we should take it, otherwise, we don’t give up our rights.

Before I finish, take this side note please, and think about it:
Q) Why did the crappy Journal “elaph” published such an article?

A) to create such racism and fights between us.

our reaction should be:
Show them that your effort (elaph’s effort) is worthless.

Just as a last warning, I want to warn you from another news station that is even worse than elaph. Im taking about Al-Arabiya net, in my opinion, it’s the worst arabic broadcasting channel ever. Just don’t read it.

I have an exam on Wednesday, Wish me luck! or otherwise I will start an endless religous war with everybody here !! *smile*

Salam ! :)

Q: What does the testimony “There’s no god but Allah” mean?
A: It means that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah who Has no partners or rivals with Him in Worship or Dominion. Allah the most High says :{ That is becasue Allah - He is the Truth (the only True God og all that exists, Who has no partners or rivals with Him), and what they (the polytheists) invoke besides Him, it is Batil (falsehood). And verily, Allah - He is the Most High, the Most Great}. (Al-Hajj, 62).

Q: What are the conditions of Shahadah (Bearing witness that there is no god but Allah) that must be fullfilled by the one who pronous it?

A: They are seven

First: to know its meaning (what it affirms and negates).

Second: to have absolute Faith in it at heart.

Third: to believe in it publicly and secretly.

Fourth: To accept it and not to reject any of its necessities or requirements.

Fifth: To purify one’s intention in its regard.

Sixth: To believe in it from one’s deepest heart and not only by tounge.

Seventh: To have passion for it and for its adherents and to take friends and enemies only according to its very criteria.

IslamAbed Hamdan on 18 Jun 2006 01:27 pm

Q: What is the proof that Islam is defined as being the five pillars of this religion when considered in detail?
A: The Prophet’s saying (Peace be upon him) upon answering Gabriel when he asked about religion Islam: “Al-Islam implies that you testify that there’s no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and you establish prayer, pay Zakah, observe the fast of Ramadan, and perform pilgrimage to the House (the Ka’abah in Mecca), if one has means to do so”. ( Reference of Saying:Bukhari and Muslim).

His saying (Peace be upon hi) that reads:”(The superstructure of) Islam is raised on five (pillars): The Oneness of Allah, performance of Prayer, payment of Zakah, fast of Ramadan, and Pilgrimage (to Mecca)”. (Referecne of Saying: Bukhari and Muslim).

Q: When can a deed be an act of worship?
A: If there are two things: perfect love (for Allah) along with perfect subjection (to Him). Allah the Almighty says: {But those who beleive, love Allah more (than anything else)}. (Al-Baqarah, 165).
Allah the Almighty says: {Verily those who live in awe for fear of their lord}. (Al-Mu’minun, 75).
Allah the Almighty gathered the two things in the following verse that reads, {Verily, they used to hasten on to do good deeds, and they used to call on Us with hope and fear, and used to humble themselves for Us}. (Al-Anbiya’, 90).

I decided to start writing about Islam. This is not the first time, I wrote alot about Islam on another blog ( Peace Root ), but this is the first time I write about it here. I will take the Q & A approach. My reference is a book by “Sheikh Hafiz Ibn Al Hakami”, translated by “Ali As-Sayed Al-Halawani”. The book’s name is “Muslim Beleif”.

Questions are about what should the Muslim beleive in to be a Muslim. It’s about the basic things to beleive in to be a real Muslim.

Please if anyone have any question about Islam, just send me an email (click on “contact” on the side bar) or leave a comment.

Anyway here we go…

Q: What is Islam?
A: Islam means perfect submission and subjection to Allah; and testifying complete Monotheism and freedom from polytheism and disobedience to Him. Allah, Most High says: {And who can be better in religion than one who submits his fate(himself) to Allah}. (An-Nisa’,125).

Q: What is the first religious obligation on worshippers?
A:To realize the purpose for which Allah the Almighty created them; and for which He took their covenant and sent them His Messengers and Books; and for which He created this present life, the Hereafter, Paradise, and Hell-fire; and for which the Inevitable would come true; and the Event would befall; and for which the Balance is set and the Records fly; and for which there would be either happiness or misery; and according to which the lights would be divided, for any to whom Allah gives not light, there will be no light for him!

Q: What is the word “abed” or “abd” (worshipper) mean?
A: It means the subdued or subjugated. This meaning encompasses all sorts of creation: higher and lower, rational and reasonless, animate and inanimate, dynamic and static, apparent and hidden, believing and disbelieving, and pious and dissoulute, etc.;all of which are created to Him, and the Almighty. They are subjected to Him, and managed by Him Alone. Moreover, all of them have a limit and destination and each one runs (its course) for an appointed term. Such is the judgment and ordering of (Him), the Exalted in Power, the Omniscient. And if the intended sense is the modest God-loving worshiper, in this case it refers only to the believing men and women who are Allah’s honorable slaves and pious godly ones; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

Q: What is Worship?
A:: Worhips is a comprehensive word that refers to all that which pleases Allah, and that which He likes, viz., good words and deeds are made manifest or concealed; and freedom from all that which contradicts this.

more are coming soon…

The news is : MTV is mocking Vatican. Click Here to read the article

They are making a series called “PopeTown”.

Im really wondering why?? Is it so funnny ?? Is that how we are supposed to reward Pope for spreading peace and Love ??? Is this how we should be dealing with our holy symbols ?? Are Morals a material of fun ??
did the world run out of ridiculous things so we are making fun of religions ?? What the heck gives guys ?? Anybody hear me ??

My Question Is “Why” ?!

Do you think that Pope would be happy when he sees himself mocked in a silly cartoon ??

This is really annoying me !! Please , Somebody should do something !! This is ridiculous !!

Maybe some of you thinks that this post is out of date, but Im really surprised to read this thing regarding the “Danish Cartoon” controversy. I would like to say that I changed my mind, and I back off all my previous opinions regarding those cartoos. I was surprised to know that the Danish Press formally apologized for the cartoons. Our Media didn’t focus on this thing!! and maybe I was too busy with my exams, projects, assignments, bla bla. However, I read news daily, but i didn’t find such thing.

I found the apology on a blog called “Scand-Arabia”.Here are the links:

I beleive that people now have another concerns rather than the Danish cartoon. In Jordan, people are busy with the new delimma “Birds Flu”. I think it’s a main reason why they forgot about the Danish cartoon issue. It so funny how people here are always looking for something to talk about. I still remeber when the Mad Cow disease was the news of the season. Then Sars, Danish cartoons, and now Birds flu.
Can you predict what will the new delimma be ?? Who Knows.!

Katharina and I had a discussion two days ago about the Danish cartoon controversay, the discussion was really interesting, click on the comments of the journal titled “Racism against Islam : Danish cartoons” if you want to read the whole discussion. We had different point of views, and it make sense cuz both of us came from completely different culture, but however, we have one essential thing in common; both of us are seeking peace and love, and nothing but peace and love. There’s a big hole between muslims and westerns, the there are many things need to be explained, and unfortunately, propaganda increased hatered between each side.
We thought that we should start a blog of our own to talk about our fears, differences, thoughts, and to reduce the whole between the two worlds. Katharina and I are the first members of that blog, we’ll invite some of our friends from both worlds to participate in the discussion. Everyboy is welcome to share ideas and to talk about his/her culture.

please help us so we can make a difference together!

I just wanna remind all educated open-minded people of the major difference between what they call “freedom of expression” and “racism”. Freedom of expression should be exercised in a spirit of respect for religious and other beliefs and convictions. Mutual tolerance and respect are universal values we should all uphold. And yes, we consider it “Racism” against Islam, which is unacceptable in our civilized community.

One last message for all muslims, untill Denmark and Norway formally apologize, we should at least boycott their products, ’cause it seems that they don’t understand the language of mind or morals, they understand the green langauge of money.

The following are products to boycott from Denmark and Norway..

Well, if you haven’t heared of Sami Yusuf, then you should!! this is the biography of Sami Yusuf, copied from his websitehttp://www.SamiYusuf.com

Sami Yusuf was born in the month of July 1980. He was born into a musical family of Azeri origin and thus music played an integral part in his life. Sami’s initial training came from his father, who is an internationally renowned composer, poet, and a multitalented musician.

Sami grew up in London and learnt to play several instruments at a very young age and gradually began to show a keen interest in singing and composing. He studied music at several institutions and with renowned composers and musicians including composers from the Royal Academy of Music in London, one of the world most prestigious music institutions.

Sami has been composing from a very young age and his beautiful voice is supplemented by his extensive knowledge of notes and harmonies. He has also a good understanding of music theory and the Middle Eastern modes (or Maqams).

Indeed, it is rare to find a person who has all these talents. Sami is also a devout practicing British Muslim who sees songs as a means of promoting the message of Islam and encouraging the youth to be proud of their religion and identity.

What do i think about him ??? details are coming soon..
