Five amazing years I spent in Jordan, and they passed in a blink of an eye. I spent most of them in Irbid, where I went to college. I met so many great people there, and I will never forget those years. This is how I remember Jordan, and this is how I miss Jordan.

below is a photo of my beloved University…

Whew! The craziest two days since forever!!

One marvelous trip to Wadi Rum & Aqaba, we had so much fun. Beach, sand, palms, sun, desert, dance floor.. My mind yearned for such vacation! Especially with two crazy dudes, we couldn’t stop laughing.

So finally I got the time to write about this special event. I had the pleasure of attending and contributing to the first international “Digital Communications and Computer Applications” conference in Jordan.

First Day:

The opening ceremony took place at Jordan University of Science and Technology (my university!), with the prescence of the minister of higher education, and the distinguished guests from all over the world ! It was a life time opportunity, to meet professors from all over the world who have Published Papers on different topics related to communications and computer applications.

The ceremony started by the national anthem, holy quran, speeches by the deans, university president, and the minister of higher education.

After that, we went for a coffee break, where we had the chance to talk to the guests. There, I talked to the team of Czech Republic. They have some amazing work in solar energy, data compression, software engineering modeling, and image processing in general.

After the long interesting coffee break, concurrent sessions took place at the “c sqaure” rooms, where each guest presented his published paper and an open discussion regarding his paper followed the presentation.

Second Day:

At 8:00 AM, the Jordan University of Science and Technology team gathered and took a bus to Jordan Intercontinental hotel, where everybody was busy attending another set of concurrent sessions and presentations by the guests. New topics for the second days. I attented the Image Processing, Computer Security, Data Communication and Computer Networks presentations.

At the coffee break, we decided to pay a visit for the “WebIT” exhibition at the ground floor of the same hotel.

A very fortunate surprise was waiting us there; it was the meeting of the fabulous team of Jeeran.com !! Jeeran is the first and the most popular company in the arab world that provides blogging servies. Jeeran is a leading company, proudly Jordanian, run by a young promising team. I had the pleasure of meeting some fellow bloggers who works for Jeeran : 7ala, Wedad, and Laith Zraikat.

Not to mention the team of Talasim.com (Zaid Qudosi) , and the blogger/photographer Sabri Hakim ( SabriHakim.com ).

Oh wait, there are more surprises !!

The post is too long already, so I will write about the most interesting team in the DCCA conference, Microsoft Windows Vista presentation and the new service of Jeeran in the next post of mine.

Actually, I met a phenomenon, a God Power. I won’t talk much about him now, but it’s enough to say for now that the title of his paper was to “Proving the Noor of Allah in the distingueshed and unique vowels of Qur’an”. He is muslim, but oddly enough, HE IS NOT AN ARAB.

to be continued…

Well this is the new expression I learned from the comments of my previous post “you’ve been missed” hahahaha ! lol..the passive spirits of this expression is weird lol!

anyway, It seems that I have to *cough* take another *cough* break !!

Im sorry I have finals…I’ll be done by 22/Jan. so please just wait, be patient, Im coming back insha’allah. It’s just a matter of 10 days…you’ll be waiting me in the suffocating emptiness of solitude, wishing that I post something lol..I know it’s hard :P *winks*

WISH ME LUCK!

I’ll be back, and as annoying as I used to be, probably more…so watch ur back :D

Personal and UniversityAbed Hamdan on 06 Jan 2007 04:16 pm

Hi Hi Hi !!!

:)

Hello my friends, and blog friends!! I missed you!! I missed you all !!!

I know you owe me an explanation !!!!

thanks for asking…I’m flattered!

Well, It’s a long story! It’s about my graduation project (yes SimSim, you’re guesses are right :P ).

I said before that this is my last semester at university ensha’allah…mmm It seems that I lost my blogging skills ! *sobs*

Ok, here’s the story, my graduation project supervisor assigned me an infeasible task in a short period of time, so I just needed my full brain to solve that problem. And thank god, It’s almost done…but to be honest, for the first time in my life I reached some points of depression and I was astonished by my depression..it was not me!! It was actually at the end of December, nobody knew.

This is how I was !

I noticed that the Eid has come and ended !! Also christmas passed and I forgot to send my christian friends any greetings (sorry Rami !!)…oh we are in 2007 now !! LOL

by the way, it’s 2:30 am now, and tomorrow I have to submit the report of my graduation project, and I’ve JUST finished it! Booh!!! I need to celebrate…sometimes a man needs an audience!

Anyway, I’m warning you guys!! yes I’m WARNING YOU!!!! MY BIRTHDAY IS ON 13/Jan !!! usually nobody remembers my birthday except my mother and one out of 5 aunts!!

so It’s your life time opportunity to pass by my blog and write a comment “HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABED YAAY YAAY YAAY”…I’m generously offering you this opportunity!! seize it!! life’s too short !!

IT’s 13/JAN !!!! DARE YOU FORGET!

Oh, my birthday was always a very special day! It’s either a very cloudy/rainy day or a day where everybody is taking a miserable final exam, or something bad happens in the world…this year, this very special year…my birthday is just one day before my seminar *grins* lol

my seminar is on 14/jan…!!!!

you also have the opportunity to say “MABROOK MABROOK MABROOK”…

man im too generous!

==== Last Update: February/1st, 2007 ====

I would like to make a list for Bloggers from my university JUST (Jordan University of Science and Technology).

Blogging is geeky no wonder, and hence blogging has become popular at JUST, probably the most geeky students in Jordan are in JUST!

Here are the names I know so far, If you happen to be blogger or have anything to do with JUST, just comment here and let me know.

Professors:

1) Dr. Taisir Eldos ( Blog | Website )

Let me proudly introduce Dr.Taisir Eldos, from the Computer Engineering department, one of the best professors I’ve ever met. He’s the first professor to blog in JUST and probably in Jordan. His blog is pure technical, yet interesting, highly informative, and has the most up to date information about the new technologies in the world of Computing. If you wanna know how the future will look like, then keep en eye on Dr.Taisir Blog.

Alumni:

1) Arabesque Rhapsody : Architecture 2001.

Ohoud’s Arabesuqe Rhapsody is one of the first blogs I’ve read. I accidentally visited her blog last year, and ever since I become a dedicated fan. It is an interesting mixture of topics that includes Architecture, Art, books, politics, culture, Jordan, personal stuff, Palestine, and personal musings.

2) Rain Drop: Computer Engineering ( what year? )

Cool blog that contains miscellaneous stuff about computers, technology, humor, Palestine, and politics.

3) Sami Majed: Electrical Engineering BA 1998, MA 2003

Great blog about politics, palestinian cause, and middle east crises.

Graduate Students:

1) Khaled Nazzal: MA student at the Biosystems department.

He is one of the worst bloggers in the world, don’t you ever visit his blog; it contains adults stuff only :P

kidding kidding!!

I met this guy few days ago at the university, and I would like to tell you that he is one of the best people I’ve ever met. He is very decent, smart, funny, and brilliant. He is one of few people I made friends with in zero time.

His blog is one of my favorites. It’s a personal, political, humorous, and amusing blog. It’s a must read blog!

Undergraduate Students:

1) Dar: Medicine 2001

Darweesh is a nice guy and so is his blog. His blog is a peaceful web space about his life (or his crazy life as he says). He talks about the challenges facing Med students along with some sarcastic posts about our daily Jordanian life.

2)Abed. Hamdan ( English | Arabic ) : Computer Engineering 2002

Ok my blogs ! The best blogs in the world, of course! lol

3) VagueRaz : Computer Engineering 2002

A personal friend of mine, she’s new to blogging, and her blog is an Arabic blog, usually contains personal rants and rambles about everything.

4) Walid Al-Zebda: Computer Engineering 2002

One of my best friends, he’s new to blogging, and is currently busy due to graduation project and tuff courses like yours truly.

5) Amani’s World: Computer Engineering 2003

I accidentally discovered this blog few days ago. It’s amazing how she blogged in “Japanese” !! Yes, she had studied Japanese ! alone!!

The blog is mainly technical, and contains some photos of the university and of our LABs. I happen to be in the one of those Labs, physically in this Lab; I know nothing about it. It’s called “Interfacing LAB”, that’s what everybody but students of 2002 call it.

We call it “Entertainment LAB” ;) Oh, actually all Labs have been nothing but entertainment rooms!

6) Amer : Computer Engineering 2006

The blog is called “GalaG” and he claims that JUST is a place where there is no hot chicks or cool stuff to do ;) I haven’t met this guy, but I already like him.

This is a video blog, probably the first Jordanian video blog ( see ? JUST students are creative :P ). I like this blog, there are many funny videos, and he makes his own clips.

7) Sayed Mahmood Alaali: Computer Information Systems 2003

A fellow student from Bahrain, his blog is an Arabic blog about programming, religion, Jordan, and various interesting stuff.

8 ) Ahmad Durazi : Computer Engineering 2003

Another personal friend of mine, collegue, and a brother from Bahrain. He is new to blogging, his blog is currenlty a personal blog..welcome Mr. Ahmad durazi (aka Bahraini!)

9) Yugi (Issa) : Computer Science 2004

An interesting blog , again from the Computer Science department, about Technology, Jordan, JUST, ..etc.

This is an image banner that links to this post, as a directory for JUST bloggers, feel free to add it to your blog.

Finally, Im back ! It’s been like 10 days, and I really missed you all :) My family got back to Kuwait, and I have a long summer holiday, first semester starts at Sept./24th, which is probably the first day of Ramadan !

Well, about the last semester, It was not much of a semester, actually it was the worst in four years. Anyway, It’s over now, and everything is just fine. Next semester is the last semester im taking courses nshallah, and the second semester will be 5 months training, and this is the end of University life ! *phew*

Next semester, im taking a 14 credit hours, which are: Internetworking, Control Systems, e-Business(elective), Graduation Project Phase II, Interfacing Lab, and Computer Workshop Lab.

Now, I guess Im back to blogging again, I’ll start writing regularily, and I have to work on my graduation project during this holiday.

I fixed some bugs of the current theme im using for my blog, It took me long time to notice those bugs, actually the theme lacked stability, and it had some bugs in the javascript, anyway It should be more stable right now!

And Thanks for your comments guys, you really made my day :)

It seems that every semester I have a song to addict to! I have a bad habbit of killing everything I like. That is, when I like a song, I listen to it like millions of times ’till it becomes boring ! When I like a juice, I drink as much as I can, daily, ’till i hate it..

The song was “Fix You” for Coldplay..

When you try your best but you don’t succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can’t sleep
Stuck in reverse

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
COULD IT BE WORSE?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below
When you’re too in love to let it go
But if you never try you’ll never know
Just what you’re worth

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Tears stream down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face
And I

Tears stream down your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face
And I

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you.

Im screwed !

Today the instructor changed the timing of two lectures, and Im just screwed. Now my daily schedule starts everyday at 8:00AM and ends at 4:30PM ! so I have to wake up everyday at 6:30 AM , and I will be home not before 5:30 PM. and I should be studying when Im home !

I really don’t know how am I going to manage my time, given the fact that I have time management problems with the normal schedules, now with this stupid schedule, I just hope to survive!

the doctor told us that the Wireless course will be about General View of Wireless Networks, Ad Hoc networks, and Blue tooth networks, so It will not be a normal course, It’s a selected topics course. and we should do a project, which is designing a wireless network for our campus ! all this should be done within three weeks, lucky me, not !

This is the worst summer course ever ! Week from now, and I will look like a ghost, just like the previous semester. I had a similar schedule, but It was 10:15 am to 5:00 pm everyday. Now It’s even worse !

hufft !

Personal and Thoughts and UniversityAbed Hamdan on 27 Jun 2006 12:59 pm

It’s summer time! I mean semester! The summer semester had begun last Sunday, and Im not very excited though. Anyway, I had like millions of things to do in the last couple of days. First, my family came from Kuwait, my maternal uncle and I went to the airport to take them home. My uncle was in the united states for about 20 years, he used to come to Jordan for vacations, but his vacations were at winter, so my family didn’t get the chance to see him, can you believe that my mother haven’t seen her brother since 1987 ?? and she just saw him two days ago !

Anyway, aside from the family stuff, I would like to talk a little bit about the summer semester, and the last semester.

The Second Semester:
Last semester (the 2nd semester), I took the following courses: Operating Systems, Simulation and Modeling, VLSI( Very Large Scale Integrated Circuits), Numerical Computations, and Graduation Project Phase I (Survey).
My favorite course was the “Operating Systems”. A very interesting course, yet EXTREMELY important. The most interesting part was the Linux lab. It was very useful to apply everything you took on the Linux kernel. The Simulation course was also interesting but the instructor didn’t like us!. VLSI is a great course, advanced one, and not easy though, but the instructor was so cooperative, he made it as easy as possible, and he helped us. The Numerical Computation, Im in love with math, and the course was not bad at all, I should’ve taken this one a year ago, but I postponed it, and I still don’t know why. Finally, “phase I” of my graduation project, I will write about it soon ;)

The Summer Course:
After struggling with the department, we convinced them to provide us with enough courses for the summer semester. I took the following courses: Networks Security, Wireless Networks, and Auto Cad Lab. Networks Security: This should be a good course, focusing Cryptography, SSL, hack attacks, penetration testing, and vulnerability research. Our university is the only university that teach this course in Jordan for undergraduates, I hope they teach in the right way. Wireless Networks: This is an elective course, and will be taught by instructor from the Hashemite University, I don’t know much about it, but I’ve been told that it’s an important course. AutoCad Lab: I should’ve taken this course two years ago, but its timing was(and still) bad, it should be an easy course, and the funniest part is that im the older student in the class, all the students are like two years younger.

The graduation day of my best friend Amjad was two days ago, I think I said enough about it. Funny thing was, Amjad cousin pretended to be from the press, and he went inside, and took close some close shots. People thought he’s really from the press, and asked him to take them some photos, and he did lol. We Erased other student’s photos, because we don’t know them. The Photos are 3MB each !! huff! I had hard times uploading them..

For all days sake, some memories can just be forgotten…

Personal and UniversityAbed Hamdan on 16 Jun 2006 03:11 pm

It’s me on the left, and my best friend Amajd on the right, on his graduation day. We spent 4 yrs together! Actually I spent the best 4 yrs of my life with him. We lived together. We used to eat together, study together, have fun, spending the whole night walking in Irbid’s streets, …
We had a life time together! These days are gone, and won’t come back. As I write these line, tears are just flowing.

I still remember year 2002, when we first met. He told me later that he didn’t like me! This is not the first time! I have a bad habit of giving others a bad first impression, I can’t remember if anyone liked me from the first sight. They always think that im kind of arrogant or not friendly person.

Anyway, just weeks after we met, we became best friends. The summer semester of the first year was the summer where we had the same courses. These days are just wonderful.

Now Amjad has graduated, he carries a B.A of Biomedical Engineering. Yes, he just took his courses faster than I did, and finished in just 4 yrs. Great student, Indeed. Amjad is a great person, friend, brother, and he is the best person I’ve ever met. He is the one who takes the pictures you see from Palestine.

I will always miss you Amjad. We’ll keep in touch for sure! And We’ll meet from time to time…

This is life, people come, and people go!

Personal and UniversityAbed Hamdan on 01 Jun 2006 02:51 pm

God Im back to life again ! It feels so good to be back, I have been dying for a week… 5 hours were the total amout of sleep I got.

Oh, The caffeine ! It was the air I breathe, and coffee was not the only source of caffiene, I was creative this semester…

These were my additional sources of caffeine:

for the curious, I don’t care much about weights, but I read that the normal Pepsi contains large amount of sugar, which is really bad for our health and I really hate Pepsi and all sodas, but It’s like I wanted something besides coffee to provide me with caffeine, the poor coffe couldn’t help it alone…

Ice Tea was a great drink too

Another fact about that last week, Irbid city was boiling !! I mean It ! It was boiling, I was in real hell..

By the way, I was listening to this song “Gangsta’s Paradise” all the time, I really dunno what reminded me of this song, maybe It obeyed the stress I had!

Gangsta’s Paradise Lyrics

As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I take a look at my life and realize there’s nuttin’ left
‘Cuz I’ve been blastin’ and laughin’ so long, that
Even my mama thinks that my mind is gone
But I ain’t neva crossed a man that didn’t deserve it
Me be treated like a punk you know that’s unheard of
You betta watch how you’re talkin’, and where you’re walkin’
Or you and your homies might be lined in chalk
I really hate to trip but I gotta, loc
As they group I see myself in the pistol smoke, fool
I’m the kinda G the little homies wanna be like
On my knees in the night, sayin’ prayers in the streetlight

Chorus:

Been spending most their lives, living in the gangsta’s paradise
Been spending most their lives, living in the gangsta’s paradise
Keep spending most our lives, living in the gangsta’s paradise
Keep spending most our lives, living in the gangsta’s paradise

THEY GOT the situation, they got me facin’
I can’t live a normal life, I was raised by the state
So I gotta be down with the hood team
Too much television watchin’ got me chasin’dreams
I’m a educated fool with money on my mind
Got my 10 in my hand and a gleam in my eye
I’m a loc’d out gangsta set trippin’ banga
And my homies is down so don’t arouse my anga, fool
Death ain’t nothin’ but a heartbeat away,
I’m livin’ life, do or die, what can I say
I’m 23 now, will I live to see 24
the way things is goin’ I don’t know

Chorus:

Tell me why are we, so blind to see
That the one’s we hurt, are you and me
Been spending most their lives, living in the gangsta’s paradise
Been spending most their lives, living in the gangsta’s paradise
Keep spending most our lives, living in the gangsta’s paradise
Keep spending most our lives, living in the gangsta’s paradise

Power and the money, money and the power
Minute after minute, hour after hour
Everybody’s runnin’, but half of them ain’t lookin’
What’s goin’ on in the kitchen, but I don’t know what’s cookin’
they say I got ta learn, but nobody’s here to teach me
If they can’t understand it, how can they reach ME
I guess they can’t, I guess they won’t
I guess they front, that’s why I know my life is out of luck, fool

Been spending most their lives, living in the gangsta’s paradise
Been spending most their lives, living in the gangsta’s paradise
Keep spending most our lives, living in the gangsta’s paradise
Keep spending most our lives, living in the gangsta’s paradise
Tell me why are we, so blind to see
That the one’s we hurt, are you and me
Tell me why are we, so blind to see
That the one’s we hurt, are you and me

At least Im done!!

Abed : I haven’t done anything at the weekend, I watched some stupid movies.

Ghassan : We already know, we read your blog .

Waleed : Man! you’re writing everything at your blog!

Ghassan : If you go to toilet, are you going to write about it ?

Abed : Yes, of course! Its like a detailed documentation of my life.

Waleed : ok, then write about the toilet stuff.

Abed : Okay Dokay!

Ghassan : HaHaHa

Alright,

I usually go to toilet at 8:00 AM when I wake up, I sometimes go to toilet after the first lecture ( 11:20 Am ), I go to toilet at 5:30 PM when Im back home, and I go to toilet before I sleep, usually at 1:00 AM.

This is the normal daily schedule, If anything new happen, I will let you know as soon as possible !!

Movies and Personal and UniversityAbed Hamdan on 18 May 2006 03:37 pm

well, I guess todayI finished almost all my tasks, delivered the last homework, and had disucssed my graduation project (phase I) survey, guess I did fine. Everything was ok. However, no much time left for the final exams, I will start at May/27 and finish at June/1st, so I’d better start preparing myself soon.

Anyway, I had nothing to do today. I visited my aunt, and got some sleep, and then I thought I should watch a movie , cause I didn’t feel like seeing anybody or talking to anybody. I went to the movie store, to get some copied DVDz.

I started looking at the movies albums, I had nothing on my mind, I was just looking for anything good, so I took a fast look at the movies and each time I ask for a movie, the movie store guy says “Oh Sorry, this one is already taken !” “Man, Im sorry, this copy has not arrived yet!” I was like Damn! what a bad luck ! even in the most ridiculous things, bad luck is haunting me. Anyway, after about 45 minutes, I gave up! I asked that guy to give me anything he thinks is fine, I asked him to choose anything comedy, I was not in the mood of watching anything else but comedy. so he gave two movies, I hadn’t even looked at the names of the movies. But this time, the choices were pretty fine.
the first movies was : The 40-year-old virgin.

This one was funny, well I won’t say much about it, the name of the movie speaks its self. My favorite part of the movie was how Steve Carell(the 4o yr old) used to spend his time, you know without girlfriend or wife or kids at that age, he used to play video games, read stupid comics, spend 3 hours making his Mayonaise Sandwich ! LOL
If you have finished your exams, and you wanna have some good laugh, then this should be a good choice. I give it 3 Stars.

The second movie was : The Dukes of Hazzards.

and this one was funny too. It’s about a small southern town “Hazzard”, everything is normal and quiet in the town, except the two Dukes, they enjoyed driving their car, and annoying the town, but those guys will save their town at the end of the movie. Those guys were funny freaks, with stupid southern attitude. Jessica Simpson’s (another Duke) was their hot cousin, she always saves their butts, using her irresistible magic. Again, if you’re bored enough to spend 2 hours watching a movie, then this one is ok. you will get a good laugh too. I give it 3 Stars too.

I think I have nothing else to say…

Personal and Thoughts and UniversityAbed Hamdan on 14 May 2006 08:22 am

As this semester is almost over, I have some thoughts to share. Well, I don’t feel Ok! My
problem is that a job half-started is a job not completed to my standards, and this was the case of many projects this semester. The most annoying project was the Simulation & Modeling project, I was given a Master Thesis about Artificial Intelligence, In which Neural Networks System identifies liver fibrosis features and distinguishes between the normal and the fibrotic liver. The main task was to simulate the performance of the multi-layered feed forward Neural network and a polynomial approximation of the interconnected neurons, which is not a pleasant taks for undergraduate student. I choosed this problem, I could’ve choosen an easier one, but challenge is my passion. The major problem was with the Polynomial approxiamtion code, it was a bad-designed code. That is, It was desinged for specific problem, and can’t be altered to fit another problem. Moreover, Neither the Thesis nor the Polynomial Approximation codes were documented, so I had to understand both codes (coded using MATLAB.), and to acheive the task. I spent long nights trying to solve the dilemma, and finally I’ve reached a point were I realized that the code I was given is trash and can’t do the problem.
This is considered uncompleted task to me! Thing is, I wasted my time doing this unsolvable higher-level problem, and this is completely wrong. It’s all or nothing for my mind, a tendency I would desperately like to overcome. This perfectionism is killing me!
Im just looking for some balance in my life, and I know exactly how to acheive it, as Aristotle said: “one can know the path to walk yet be prevented by incontinence” .
This might be a battle of the appetitive. Once my appetite to succeed overcomes my appetite for short term enjoyment of things that could be put off, then I will be unstoppable. There has got to be a way to encourage that Success Appetite so that I may stand upright again.

I wanted to write about this topic long time ago, but I dunno why I always keep procrastinating, I think I should join the procrastinators club!

Anyway, as a 4th year student in the engineering school of JUST, I think I’ve tried almost everything a student could do, except those red lines, if you know what I mean.

In Irbid city, you will have a typical student life, specially if you are living with roommates from Yarmouk university, where studying is their last priority. I don’t blame them at all, because they are victims of the trash system we have.

A typical student day:

First you wake up, probably at 10:00 am if you’re lucky, oh sure you’ve missed the 8:00 am lecture, now you should get dressed, which is not an easy job at all! you must start looking for the “cleanest” piece you have, and you might waste at least 20 minutes searching for you clothes everywhere, and It’s so damn hard to remeber where did you throw your cloths last time. Eventually, you will get dressed, then you will go down the street, looking for the nearset bicycle guy who sells the cheapest coffee in the street, light your “Viceroy” cigarette or Vaysoory as the Egyptian grocery guy call it, and then head to your “great” campus.

Let’s skip the daytime for now, and jump to the point where you come back home, probably at 5:00 pm. Now you will eat at some restaurant, since cooking is the last thing the world you want to learn, and Ugh, I need at least two posts to speak about the restaurants here, let’s skip it now!

Now it’s 7:00 pm, and you have nothing to do ! I mean really nothing! There’s no decent place to do any decent activity at, and even if such place exist, you will not have enough money to afford! so the typical thing to is to go and spend the night with the other (losers) collegues.

Then the interesting conversations begin! I’ll give you some examples of our extremely unproductive self-destructing conversations. Some guys act as teenage drama queens, they keep speaking about girls, and how cute are these girls, and bla bla… and you will have to listen to the same shit everyday, EVERYDAY, for 5 years.!
Others are sexually freaks, they are always speaking about sex, they can be funny, but It’s getting disgusting sometimes. What annoys me the most are those guys whom are always complaining!! either from their bad grades or from their miserable out-of-target lives…

Well nothing really interesting in the conversations we have, you get bored quickly, so then comes the so-called “Shi Sha” or Hubble Bubble or Hooka, It’s really important when you have nothing important to talk about, and you need something to do except looking at each others. This Shi Sha thingy is really bad, It’s more dangerous than smoking, and It’s a main cause of cancer, and It’s a waste of time and money! and It became one major part of any student life. I can’t imagine that I smoke Shi Sha with an average 6 times per month, which sux! my whole life I was an Athlete, I’ve always loved GYM, and I was a damn good ping pong player, great soccer player, and an impressive swimmer, now Im a lazy smoker! Don’t blame me, here we have nothing to do, but studying and smoking.

PS: Im not a smoker, I smoke shi sha ocassionaly.

Oh I beleive I’ve critiqued girls for smoking shi sha, I think Im not anymore…

This is a very important semester to me, It’s the semester of Phase1 of the graduation project. some of you already know that my graduation project is about designing and implementing a real Robot, it’s a challenging project, but nevertheless, we gonna kick some ass!

First of all, let me introduce you to my team mates: Waleed, Muhannad, and Ghassan. We’re a group of four phreaks !! Im not sure if we really gonna finish this project, but there’s no doubt that it will be fun !! those guys are really maniacs, you should meet them ;)

Now let me tell you about our first meeting. We developed an initial design document. We went to Ghassan’s place, we had tea(I don’t like tea, i prefere coffee, but tea is cheaper, that’s why it’s Ghassan’s best choice!), discussed the work developed by each team member, nothing was out of ordinary untill we left Ghassan’s apartment. There was a strange smell coming from the apartment next door..!! actually it smelled like stinky weed..!! then we saw gaz coming out of the apartment!! we tried to open the door, but we couldn’t, all neighbourhood came to see what’s going on. Five minutes passed and we still can’t open the doors..it’s was damn horrible, we thought that the apartment put on fire and somebody might be inside. Then we called the firemen, while we were trying to break the door, suddenly a guy wearing a green panties came out of the apartment !! HE WAS SLEEPING WHILE HIS APARTMENT WAS BURNING !! And thank god we helped him just on time, if we were late that guy would be dead now!! we Saved his life !! We saved the green panties guy life !!

Now we’re national heros!! we decided to call our team : The Heros.

That was our first meeting…It’s a good beginnig Heh!

Dr.Omar: HaHaHaHa, i will teach you Operating Systems !!

Students: ?!

Dr.Omar: Do you want Project at this course ?? *giggles*

Abed: Assembler Version II ? LOL!

Mohd Gdaisat: Yea, small one!!

Dr.Omar: No, Huge One !! *giggles*

Mohd Gdaisat: No. ! we want a reasonable practical project, We dont wanna implement the Windows Operating System!

Dr.Omar: HaHaHaHa..!!

Finally !!! Im Done..!!

I had my last final exam,it was horrible !~ but it’s OK! im still celebrating the victory of finishing the longest/roguhest/baddest/stinkiest semester ever !!!

I agree it was long, we passed Ramadan, Eid el Fitr, Eid Al adha, and above all this !! we passed the System Programming Project (i.e. Simulator, Assembler, and Linker/Loader). yeah I still have hard feelings against that course, eventhough i got excellent grade in the system programming course, but still it ruined everything !!

What adds to my surprise is that three out of four courses this semester required projects to be developed using C#.NET, so how come we’re studying Computer Engineering and most of the courses are all about programming ?!
The only course that didn’t depent on C#.NET was micro processor systems desing II , and needless to say, it was the like pain in the ass, and i got a bad grade too ! so now im just waiting for grades of the rest of the courses, wish me luck guys !!

I Sacrificed many things this semester to survive.!! And i sacrificed long long hours to the gods of .NET programming to master the language of C# !! it was somehow fun, programming is fun.

After all , it’s over, and im going to kuwait on Sunday Jan/30/2006 to spend my mid year holiday, i really missed my family, friends, neighbours, class mates, and everyone who’s related to me in kuwait !! so i wish everything we’ll be ok!

Personal and Thoughts and UniversityAbed Hamdan on 20 Dec 2005 05:48 am

Well, after delivering Phase two othe System programming Course (i.e. Assembler).. i would like to state what i gained from that project.. hmm more than 10,000 lines of code in seven days.!!
Benefits:

  1. I used to Hate “Goerge Wassouf” , now i like him; each time we(the team) start working, my friend Bader play Goerge wassouf music, so it’s my new addiction!
  2. I become a fan of “Meshari Al-Affasi” - Holy Qur’an Reader- . when i worked with my friend Munther Al-Hammouri, he played the same tracks contiguosuly for ten hours.
  3. I dont like Kathem Al-saher anymore, I hate him now !!! the third member of the group “Baha2 Al-Saifi ” used to play his worst tracks..Baha2 has bad taste in everything!
  4. Another point, oh! my speed in printing on keyboard, i used to take a whole 2 nano seconds to write a sentence by the keyboard, now it takes me 1 nanosecond!

Now am i supposed to get high marks on the second exams ?? Execuse my Ass ??? Am i supposed to be friendly with my instructors ??? Execuse my ** ?? Am i supposed to be the good “friendly” abed ??? Well, i won’t.. im a monster these days !! AND IM TOTALY PISSED OF !! LEAVE ME ALONE FOR GOD SAKE…
